Grand Final Spot At Stake

Either Busselton or South Bunbury will be first to this years, 2023 Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL Grand Final, when the two teams meet on Saturday afternoon at Sir Stewart Bovell Park.

Busselton have known for the last six weeks that they would be in the second semi final, after a stellar season saw the Magpies finish three games clear of second placed Carey Park, at the end of the home and away season.  Their opponents in Saturday’s clash made last years Grand Final which they dominated for three quarters, before succumbing to Augusta Margaret River in a thrilling finish, so South Bunbury will be hungry to get there again to have another chance at Premiership glory.  The Tigers made the second semi final after defeating Carey Park in the Qualifying Final, dominating the match after quarter time.

Head to head in 2023, Busselton have won both encounters, winning the round seven contest by 32 points, while more recently in round seventeen, Busselton defeated South Bunbury by 40 points.

Both teams have been in good form leading up to this contest, with Busselton having lost just once for the season, while South Bunbury have defeated Harvey Bulls, Donnybrook, Bunbury, Harvey Brunswick Leschenault and Carey Park to make the Second Semi Final.

Both teams have match winners all over the ground, which will give fans an opportunity to see some great match ups.  Supply out of the middle will be key to getting the ball to the key forwards, something both teams do exceptionally well.

The last time the two teams met in a second semi final was 1966, which South Bunbury won by 37 points.  They met two weeks later in the Grand Final where the Tigers won by 12 points.
