Harvey Bulls Hold On At Dunsborough

Harvey Bulls have recorded their second win of the season, holding off Dunsborough in the final term, who were kicking with a very strong wind, in round eight of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL season.

A week prior the Bulls were kicking with a strong wind at Harvey Oval and weren’t able to get over the line against Augusta Margaret River, and on Sunday they were able to hold off Dunsborough in the same situations.

The wind was very strong and was probably not the advantage it should or could have been for Dunsborough, who trailed by 21 points at the final break, with the Bulls ultimately winning by 15 points.

The Bulls struggled with the wind in the first term, converting just one of eight shots at goal, while Dunsborough were able to get a goal against the wind.   Conditions tempered slightly in the second, with Dunsborough hitting the front, albeit by two points as the home side kicked four goals to three in an entertaining second quarter.

The third quarter set up the Bulls victory, kicking six goals with the wind, a margin the Sharks weren’t able to pull back.

Considering the conditions, Jordan Strahan (Harvey Bulls) and Matthew Burgess (Dunsborough), managed seven and six goals respectively, with Zak Pretty and Cooper Sparks playing well for the Bulls.    Paris Murdoch continued his good form as did Jake Green for the Sharks who will now face Busselton in round nine.
