Hawks Back On Top Of The Ladder

It may be temporary, but the Augusta Margaret River Hawks are on top of the ladder after they easily accounted for Harvey Brunswick Leschenault on Saturday at Gloucester Park.

The 59 point winning margin could have been significantly more if not for some very inaccurate kicking, with the Hawks having 33 scoring shots to the Lions nine.

The Lions kept in touch with the home team in the first half, trailing by just 19 points against the reigning premiers, but 18 scoring shots to three in the second half put paid to the Lions hopes on an upset victory.

Simon Moore continued his good form of recent weeks with a best on ground performance, with Ben Taylor starring with six goals.  Jack Fletcher and Xavier Milner were amongst the best for the visitors who will need to re-group before facing Busselton in a fortnights time, with the Hawks to take on Donnybrook in the next round.
