Hawks Did All That Was Required

Round six of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL season continued at Gloucester Park on Saturday afternoon, before a very disappointing crowd, with the home team winning a dour affair by 68 points.

Collie would open the scoring (a behind), but that would be their only score for the quarter, while a wasteful Hawks outfit kicked two goals seven behinds.

The inaccuracy continued throughout the match, with the teams amassing fourteen goals twenty four behinds between them.

Collie kicked two goals in the second quarter and had opportunities to close the margin further, but that would be it for the Eagles, who never kicked another goal for the game.

The Hawks had more system in attack and slowly grew the lead as the match meandered to its conclusion, sadly reaching no great heights.

Hayward Medalist, Simon Moore, put in his best game of the season, while James Purvis had plenty of the ball, with Harry Taylor kicking five goals for the green and gold. Kolbee Fleay and Shaquille McKenzie were the stand-out players for the Eagles.
