Hawks Finish On Winning Note

Augusta Margaret River have finished the season on a winning note, defeating Dunsborough by 32 points at Gloucester Park on Saturday afternoon, in round nineteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

In a tight firtst half, it would be goal for goal in the opening term, with the Hawks leading by eight points at quarter time.

The Sharks took it right up to the Hawks in the second quarter, taking a one point lead into half time, assisted by some inaccurate kicking by the Hawks.

That bad kicking continued in the third term, but the Hawks were starting to get the upper had with Max Spyvee providing plenty of the forward thrusts, with the home side having ten scoring shots for the quarter.

Leading by seventeen points at the final change, the Hawks would kick three goals to one in the final quarter to record a comfortable win over the Sharks, who are still yet to defeat the Hawks from six attempts.

The Hawks will finish the season in seventh place, in a season of lost opportunity, curtailed by countless season ending injuries.

Dunsborough currently sit in eighth place on the ladder and will host Harvey Bulls in their final game of the season.
