Hawks Get The Job Done Over Boomers

It wasn’t pretty, but Augusta Margaret River got the four points at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday afternoon, in round twelve of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL Premiership season.

Before the smallest crowd of the season, the Hawks kicked the only goal of the opening term, before setting up the win in the second quarter, kicking six goals to one.   Byron George was amongst the goal kickers in the second quarter, ending with four goals for the match.

The Hawks extended the margin to fifty points at three quarter time, before eventually winning by 55 points, keeping the Hawks in fourth place on the ladder, four points behind third placed Harvey Brunswick Leschenault, and four points clear of three teams fighting for fifth spot.

Kel Evans played another good game for the Hawks, and received the Indigenous game ball for best a field, while Max Spyvee also played well.    Travis Hotchin, Paul Rinder and Greg Humphries played well for the Boomers, who did just enough to stay off the bottom of the ladder on percentage.

All mens teams will have a general bye in the next round as the Nutrien Ag Country Championships take centre stage.
