Hawks Win, Eaton Running Out Of Time

Augusta Margaret River defeated Eaton Boomers on Saturday afternoon at a soaked Glen Huon Reserve, keeping the premiers chance of finishing on top of the ladder, while for the Boomers the loss means they are running out of opportunities to take the final spot within the top five.

The horrendous weather meant hardly anybody was at the ground to witness the match, which saw the Hawks extend their lead for the first three quarters, with the margin twelve points at the first break, 22 points at half time, 42 points at three quarter time, before the premiers completed the day with a comprehensive 38 point win.  Greg Humphries goal on the final siren enabled the Boomers to win the final quarter.

The Hawks played extremely well in the wet conditions, with both Jacob and Steven Payne playing well, while Matthew Bannister kicked four goals, which in the conditions was a great effort.  Greg Humphries continued his outstanding form to be amongst the best for the Boomers, who will next face South Bunbury, while the Hawks will travel to Collie next Sunday.
