HBL Start Gather Round With WIn

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have won the opening game of gather round over South Bunbury, when they defeated the Tigers by 28 points at the Collie Recreation Ground in the Optus Women’s competition.

The Lions got off to a flying start, bombarding the goals, kicking five behinds before Tegan Kennett scored the opening goal.  Arnya Pickston and Mahkenna Chapman would kick goals either side of half time, as the rain started to fall.  The rain dominated the second half, canceling further scoring.

Tessa Kongras was outstanding for the Lions gaining multiple possessions, while a solo effort by Kiarni Stevens from full back to forward of the centre was one of few highlights for the Tigers.
