Hickman Cup To Be Hotly Contested

Donnybrook will play Harvey Bulls on Sunday afternoon in the Hickman Cup at VC Mitchell Park, with plenty riding on the result for both teams in the round seven clash of the South West Football League.

Donnybrook, who currently are second on the ladder, are one of four teams with four wins, while Harvey Bulls have dropped to sixth place with three wins.   The Dons can keep ahead of the pack by winning on Sunday due to a very healthy percentage or potentially drop to fifth based on other results.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are coming off a very disappointing result against Busselton, where they were kept scoreless for more than a half.  A loss will see them potentially drop to seventh and be as many as two games behind fifth place, highlighting the importance on Sunday’s match.

Irrespective of where the teams are on the ladder, the Hickman Cup is always a tough match with Harvey Bulls winning the last contest by 40 points at VC Mitchell Park.  The Bulls will still be without Sam Lewis and Andrew Heydon, compounding the Bulls issues, with both not playing in last weeks loss to Busselton.

With the Dons storming home last week to win over Carey Park, the Donnybrook faithful will be out in force as they look to consolidate second place.   Sam Perkusich (pictured), Ben Howlett, Cody Miller and Todd Gregory have all been in good form and the Bulls will need plenty of attention put into these players if they are to take the win on Sunday.
