Key Battle Looms In White Ribbon Game

The White Ribbon Match between Eaton Boomers and Donnybrook, commences round fourteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL Premiership season on Saturday afternoon at Glen Huon Reserve.

The Boomers who have dropped to seventh on the ladder, take on the Dons who have moved into the top five, with the Boomers needing to win to stay in touch, otherwise they will drop out of the race for finals.

Eaton won the round three contest between the two teams, keeping the Dons to just one goal at VC Mitchell Park, it is highly unlikely that this will be the case on Saturday, with Donnybrook also needing to win, to stay ahead of Harvey Bulls who sit sixth on the ladder.

The Boomers are coming off the bye and will be fresh, while Donnybrook are coming off a 51 point victory over Harvey Brunswick Leschenault, with Jeff Smith, Jacob Kendle, Ben Howlett and Sean Lynch all playing well, and all four will need to be shut down by the Boomers if they are to take the four points.

The home team will also need to improve on their accuracy which has been a major worry in recent times, with the Boomers kicking 35 goals, 58 behinds in their last five matches.

Both teams are also playing for the Peter Butcher Cup, giving added incentive towards victory.
