Last Quarter Sees Magpies Home

A week ago, Busselton were eighth on the SWFL Ladder, tonight midway through the following round they find themselves third after defeating Eaton Boomers at Glen Huon Reserve on Saturday.

In perfect weather, both teams played out a low scoring affair with Busselton leading by a point at the final change.  Ultimately a four goals to two final term would be the difference, with last seasons Grand Finalists winning by 17 points.   A week ago, the Boomers kicked 7.6.48 against Collie Eagles, while today they kicked 7.5.47 against Busselton, but on both occassions despite being unsuccessful, they kept the winning team to less than ten goals.

Liam Creighton, Mitchell Howlett and Matthew Welburn all kicked two goals for the winner, while Bevan Bennell remained consistent, kicking three goals to take his season tally to eight.  Busselton will host arch rivals, Augusta Margaret River in a twilight fixture next Saturday, while Eaton Boomers will travel to Brunswick to take on the Lions on Saturday at 1.10pm.
