Lions Advance To Colts Preliminary Final

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have advanced to the Preliminary Final of the Apprentice & Traineeship Colts after defeating Dunsborough at Gloucester Park on Saturday.

Dunsborough scored a behind in the first fifteen seconds of the match and had multiple opportunities during the first quarter but couldn’t convert opportunities, kicking 1.6.12 in the quarter while an excellent snap by Pierce Ferguson put the Lions in front by a behind late in the quarter.

Jake Green put the Sharks back in front, before a long range goal by Max Rognetta had scores level half way through the second quarter.  Seann Arrowsmith extended the margin further with the Lions leading by seven points at half time.

Harry Gualter and Pierce Ferguson put the match further out of reach as the margin reached 24 points at three quarter time.

Dunsborough rallied in the final term with goals to Harris Craig and Matthew Burgess, but the Lions steadied in the concluding stages with Jakson McCullough kicking a goal on the final siren to record a 24 point win and advance to the Preliminary Final against either Carey Park or Bunbury.
