Lions And Boomers Start Round Six

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault will host Eaton in the opening game of round six of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL Premiership season, with both teams looking for their first win on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions have been competitive but the four points have eluded them thus far, with a 19 point loss to Harvey Bulls, 2 point loss to Carey Park, 15 loss to Bunbury and a 40 point loss to Donnybrook in their four matches to date.  Conversely, Eaton are coming off an 81 point defeat at Donnybrook, 145 point loss at the hands of Busselton, 27 point loss to South Bunbury, 57 point loss to Harvey Bulls and a 59 point loss to Augusta Margaret River.

The Lions were held scoreless in their opening quarter against Donnybrook, but aside from that, took it up to the Dons for the remaining three quarters, while Eaton outscored Augusta Margaret River in the last quarter and kicked their highest score of the season.

Both teams have also had tough draws to start the season, with the Lions coming up against three teams currently in the top five, while Eaton have played both teams in last years Grand Final and the Bulls and Magpies.

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have struggled to kick a big score with 7.10.52 being their highest score, and of the 24 goals they have kicked in four games, Jarrod Humphries has kicked half of them.

After the headlines of the round two clash, where Eaton were thrashed by Busselton, the Boomers have improved after the Easter Break, and led for the majority of the match against South Bunbury and kicked their highest score of the season against last years premiers, which makes this match an intriguing contest.

If the Lions were to win they could potentially move a further rung up the ladder, but a loss will certainly drop them down one at the expense of Eaton, while if Eaton were to lose, they will be entrenched at the bottom of the ladder unless Collie are beaten by a big margin by Augusta Margaret River.
