Lions And Eagles To Battle At Brunswick

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault will host the Collie Eagles at the Brunswick Showgrounds on Sunday in round twenty of the SWFL Premiership season.

The Lions have won their last two games against Eaton and Dunsborough, while Collie are coming off a 35 point win against Eaton as well in Collie last Sunday.

A Lions victory will see them win three games in a row, while Collie will be looking to go back to back and put a fourth win on the board after claiming just one win and a draw in 2022.

The last time the two sides met it was a forty five point win to the Lions in Collie, with Zavier Williams and Jarrod Humphries kicking seven goals between them.  With Humphries out of the side for the rest of the season, the Lions goals have come from Ty Armitage, Marcus Jodrell and Seann Arrowsmith in more recent times, with Zac Piper the second highest goal scorer to Humphries with fifteen.  Collie’s Jayce Fontana, who has kicked a goal in all but two games this season has 32 goals, and along with Adam Bignell and Cameron Davidson have provided the Eagles goals in more recent times.

With the outcome of the match having no bearing on finals positions, it will be pride of the jumper that will be on the line for both sides on Sunday.  Collie could drop to tenth if Dunsborough were to beat Harvey Bulls, so the Eagles do have some incentive to take the points from the Lions.

Colts 9.45am, Reserves 11.40am, Women’s 1.30pm, League 3.00pm
