The Lions finished the home and away season on top of the ladder, and South Bunbury finished third, and on Sunday they meet in the Solahart Preliminary Final, with the winner to advance to next weeks Grand Final to play Carey Park.
The Lions lost the Second Semi Final to Carey Park last Saturday by 24 points in somewhat of a surprise, while the Tigers were soundly beaten in the Qualifying Final by Carey Park, before bouncing back against the Bulldogs, winning by 29 points.
The two teams have been in the top three for the majority of the season, with the Tigers making it to last years Grand Final, but fell agonisingly short, and they will be hoping to defeat the Lions today, to have another chance of Premiership glory next weekend.
In their way though are the Lions, who have won 16 Reserves premierships, and will be hoping to have another change next Sunday against the Panthers.
In their previous meetings this season, the Lions defeated the Tigers here at Hands Oval earlier this month by 33 points, while at Brunswick Oval in round nine, it was much closer with the Lions victorious by just two points.
Both players have plenty of experience in their teams, with numerous players having played plenty of League football.
The Lions have a swathe of players who chime in from time to time to kick goals, while the Tigers have a focal point in Morgan Lane, who kicked 48 goals in the home and away season, to win the competitions goal kicking award yet again.
Rhys Crawford, Jye Cormack and Matt Giacci, all of whom have played 372 League Games between them continue to play excellent football and will be key for the Tigers if they are to beat the Lions. The same can be said of the Lions, with James Stano who on Friday night was crowned the Times Medallist for the second year in a row, in particularly good form.
Who ever wins, it promises to be a great contest.
The match commences at 11.15am
