Lions Defeat Eagles In Collie

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault continued their good form in the last month, when they accounted for the Collie Eagles at the Collie Recreation Ground on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions led by twelve points at quarter time, and by ten at half time, in a tight first half as the Eagles applied plenty of pressure.  The match was won in the third term, with the visitors kicking five goals with Zavier Williams and Jarrod Humphries providing plenty of headaches for the the Eagles.  The margin at the final change was 29 points, and would end at 45 points as the Lions kept the Eagles goal-less in the final term.

Unfortunately for the Eagles they weren’t able to celebrate a win for Matt Blackford in his 250th game, with Blackford amongst Collie’s best in front of the biggest crowd of the round.  Jack Fletcher for the second week in a row was the best on the ground, with Connor Carbone and Josh Tartaglia also playing well.

The Lions will face the stiffest test in football currently when the take on Busselton next Sunday at Brunswick, while the Eagles will travel to Donnybrook on Saturday in another tough match.
