Lions Defeat Plucky Eagles

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault overcame a determined Collie Eagles on Sunday afternoon at the Brunswick Oval, winning by twenty five points in round twenty of the SWFL season.

The Eagles got the better of an entertaining opening term, leading by three points at quarter time.

The goals dried up in the second term as the contest was tight and opportunities to covert in the forward line were few and far between, with the Lions leading by eight points at half time.

Collie challenged strongly in the third term and had most of the play but couldn’t convert their chances, kicking 2.5 (17) for the quarter, while the Lions kicked three goals from limited forward entries, to lead by ten points.

The final term belonged to the Lions, who took control and ran out winners by 25 points.  Marcus Jodrell continued his good form kicking four goals, while Andrew Walsh and Connor Carbone played well.  Collie had six individual goal kickers, with Adam Bignell and Sam Russell amongst the Eagles best.
