Lions Down Boomers In Thriller

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have been involved in a thriller for the third week in a row, when they defeated Eaton Boomers by two points at Glen Huon Reserve on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions drew with Carey Park in round nine, defeated Collie Eagles by two points in round ten, before posting another two point win against the Boomers in wet and incredibly windy conditions.

Both teams made an enterprising start to the contest with the Boomers holding a five point lead at quarter time.  It would be seven points at half time, before scores would be locked at 54 a piece at the final change.  In a tense final quarter, with the wind howling and squally rain, both teams battled it out to the final siren with neither team able to land the knock-out blow in the concluding stages.

Jarrod Humphries returned to his brilliant best, kicking an amazing seven goals in the very difficult conditions, while Jack Fletcher and Reid Kinninmont also played well.  Brandon Jetta and Jordan Falco also played well for Eaton, with Joel Houghton returning to form kicking three goals.

HBL will now host South Bunbury on Saturday who are coming off the bye, while Eaton Boomers will travel to Harvey to take on the Bulls on Sunday.
