Lions Storm Home In Thriller

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have stormed home, to win a thrilling round nineteen fixture against Dunsborough Sharks at Brunswick Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The Sharks started well, leading by two goals at quarter time still led by eleven points at half time, and opened a twenty one point lead nearing three quarter time.  A late goal to Ty Armitage who played a great game narrowed the margin back to fifteen points at three quarter time.

The momentum was back with the Sharks at the start of the final term when Nic Reid goaled, but that then started a strong comeback by the Lions, with Zac Piper getting a free kick in the goal square narrowing the margin back to fifteen points.  Shortly after Marcus Jodrell marked fifteen metres out, kicking his third goal.  James Finucane kicked the Lions eighth goal as the Sharks were under enormous pressure, and had lost the momentum they had, and were struggling to get the ball forward of centre.

Ty Armitage put the Lions in front, and when Seann Arrowsmith kicked a great goal from deep in the pocket, the Lions were up by eleven points.    The Sharks fought back kicking two late goals, setting up a thrilling last three minutes.

Both teams had a late chance to win, but the Lions prevailed.  Harvey Brunswick Lescheanult have been involved in five matches this year where the margin has been twelve points or less, while Dunsborough have been involved in seven, losing last week by five points to go with today’s one point loss.

Ty Armitage and Connor Carbone played well for the Lions, while Jake Green and Mack Candy were amongst the best for the Sharks.
