Lions To Host Sharks Saturday

The opening match of round nineteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West Premiership Season, will be between eighth placed Harvey Brunswick Leschenault and ninth placed Dunsborough, at Brunswick Oval.

Despite the ladder positions, there is plenty to play for, particularly for Dunsborough who are in a three way battle at the bottom of the ladder, and the newest team to the competition won’t want to finish last in their first season.

The Lions defeated Dunsborough in the corresponding match in round eight by 10 points in a low scoring affair.  The home side defeated Eaton last Sunday, while Dunsborough lost a thriller to Bunbury at Payne Park, with the Sharks looking to this match as one they can win to avoid the wooden spoon.

Connor Carbone, Brendan Stemp and Seann Arrowsmith have had solid seasons for the Lions and were amongst their best last Sunday, and will be three players the Sharks will need to keep an eye out on.  The Sharks played some great football last Sunday against Bunbury with the backline enduring a mountain of pressure late in the match, with Max Paterson, Mack Candy and Simon Poole all in good form, while Nic Reid and Chris White have been the teams main-stays in attack and will need to be watched closely by the Lions defenders.

With both teams full of young players and fine weather forecast, the match promises plenty of run and skill, in a match where the result could go either way.
