Long Time Between Victories For The Bulls

The Harvey Bulls have recorded their first victory at home in more than three years, with a gritty win over Carey Park on Saturday evening.

Three years 7 months and 15 days or 1323 days after they defeated Donnybrook on 26 August 2017 by 64 points, the Bulls faithful finally were rewarded with a victory at home, when they defeated the Panthers by 16 points, with the biggest margin of the match being 17 points at three quarter time.

In a match dominated by the forwards, Bradley Holmes and Brandon Jetta kicked eight of the Bulls thirteen goals, while Jeffrey Carter and Riese Wilkey kicked eleven of the Panthers 12 goals.

The Bulls have recorded only two other victories since that home victory in 2017, an upset win against Collie Eagles in Collie by 9 points on 3 June 2018, and against Bunbury in the opening round of 2019, after an administration error saw the Bulls awarded the four points, despite losing the match by 69 points.

This Saturday the Bulls head to Collie to play the Collie Eagles who started well against the Hawks, but were over run in the second half, while Carey Park will host Eaton Boomers in a twilight fixture at Kelly Park, both teams hoping not to be 0-2 at 6.45pm on Saturday night at the completion of the match.
