Magpies And Bulls In Elimination Final Saturday

Its finals time and the Elimination Final will be played at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Saturday between Busselton and Harvey Bulls who played out a thriller in the final round of the season, less than a week ago.

In a tight tussle, which was also low scoring, the Bulls prevailed by two points, winning at the venue for the first time in five years.

All of the usual suspects played well, the only surprise was the scoreline, with both teams boasting plenty of firepower, yet combined the teams managed just thirteen goals.  With fine conditions forecast it will suit both teams, who can both score heavily.  Mitch Tenardi and Lloyd Beever have both had great seasons for their respective clubs and will no doubt both attract plenty of attention, in the do or die match.

Having played last weekend, there won’t be too much that Daniel Delaney or Mark Pink as Coaches could pull out of the hat as a surprise that wasn’t seen last Saturday evening, making for an intriguing contest.

The Bulls are on the road for the third week in a row, and the second week in a row at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, while the Magpies haven’t had to leave the nest in the last fourteen days.  The Bulls will be buoyed by last weeks win, so the ground will not hold any fears for the team who are playing in their first finals series since 2016, which saw them reach the Preliminary Final.  Busselton meanwhile will have to replicate what they did last season, by coming from the Elimination Final to make the Grand Final.

The winner will advance and play the loser of South Bunbury and Bunbury with the First Semi Final to be played on Sunday, 18 September 2022 at either Hands Oval or Payne Park subject to who loses the match.
