Magpies Show No Mercy On Eagles

The final game of the Women’s gather round, saw Busselton play Collie Eagles, with the undefeated Magpies showing now mercy on the fledgling Eagles, defeating Collie by 108 points.

On what was otherwise a cold and wet day, the match was played in mostly bright sunshine with the Magpies in total control, apart from potentially the first seven minutes, where Collie did threaten to score several times, but to no avail.

Emma Borinelli kicked a career high six goals in the big win, but Katie-Jayne Grieve was outstanding through the midfield, while Maddy Obal also was dominant obtaining many possessions along with Rennie Meadmore.

Laura Crowe was given the job of running with Katie-Jayne Grieve and was amongst Collie’s best players along with Maraea Luke.

Busselton will host Donnybrook in Round 15, while Collie will travel to Bunbury in another tough assignment.
