Magpies Thrash Collie At Bovell Park

Not for the first time this season, Busselton have thrashed an opposition team, and for the second time this season, the Magpies have beaten a team by 145 points at Bovell Park, which was the margin when Busselton defeated Collie on Saturday night.

Collie who were great against Donnybrook six days ago, were never in the match against the minor premiers, who kept the Eagles scoreless in the first quarter and goal-less in the first half.

The Eagles kicked their first goal at the ten minute of the third term, by which time the margin had already exceeded 100 points, with Mitch Howlett and Blake Riley the chief destroyers up forward, kicking eight goals between them in the absence of Liam Creighton.

In total Busselton had fifteen goal kickers, including several players from the backline, which included Jon Meadmore who kicked a goal in his 200th game.

Busselton will now have a week off and will host a second semi final, while Collie will review a season which will see the Eagles either finish tenth or last depending on if Eaton defeats Dunsborough on Sunday.
