Magpies Win Shootout At Glen Huon

Despite the wet weather, Busselton and Eaton provided fans with a high scoring shootout at Glen Huon Reserve on Sunday afternoon, in round five of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

The two sides would combine to kick 31 goals, seven in the first, eight in the second, eleven in the third and five in the last.

The Magpies started well, leading by seventeen points at quarter time, but the home side pegged the deficit back to three points at half time with Kyle Ryder and Jack Cox getting plenty of the ball.

The high scoring third term saw Ryan Ekert and Liam Creighton combine again as they have done all season, on their way to eleven goals between them, giving the visitors a ten point three quarter time lead.

In a tight final term, the Magpies finally got the ascendancy to win by twenty points, the biggest margin of the match.

The Magpies remain in second place on the ladder at the end of the round, while Eaton are ninth, but are playing much better than their ladder position suggests.    Eaton will travel to Collie next Sunday, while Busselton will host South Bunbury, also on Sunday.
