Minor Premiers Looking To Bounce Back

The Augusta Margaret River Hawks Colts side will be looking to turn their fortunes around, when they play South Bunbury in the Get Careers Colts Preliminary Final on Sunday at Hands Memorial Oval.

The Hawks who had defeated Harvey Brunswick Leschenault twice during the home and away season, were restricted to just three goals by the Lions in the Second Semi Final, with many of the Hawks players kept very quiet.

South Bunbury meanwhile were convincing winners over Bunbury in the First Semi Final at VC Mitchell Park on the Saturday, with the Tigers having six goal kickers on the day, giving them multiple avenues to goal, with Xavier Notte kicking seven goals in a standout performance.

Both the Lions and Tigers won their respective semi finals by 47 points.

One of the Hawks key players, Tom Cassidy missed last weekends semi final, and is sure to make a difference to the Hawks on Sunday, but the Tigers will be looking to make the grand final themselves, and have beaten the Hawks in their last three encounters.

It has been seven years since the Tigers have been in a Colts Grand Final, losing to Bunbury by ten points in the 2019 Grand Final, while the Hawks last made the Grand Final in 2015, where they too were defeated by HBL by 52 points.

Only one side can make it, with the loser finishing third for the season.
