Carey Park will host Bunbury on Sunday afternoon at Kelly Park, in round two of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season, with the teams playing for the coveted Nani Cup.
The two teams have played for the Nani Cup fifteen times, with Bunbury leading 10-5, though Carey Park did win the last contest at Payne Park last season by ten points.
Carey Park come into the fixture without playing in round one, although they did have some solid scratch matches against Collie Eagles and Harvey Brunswick Leschenault in the lead up to Sunday’s fixture. Bunbury meanwhile lost narrowly to Busselton last Saturday evening in a high quality, high intensity match, which despite the result will put them in a good position to take on Carey Park.
The two sides, have played 49 matches at Kelly Park, with both sides recording 24 wins each along with a draw, with the potential that this match may be just as close.
With Sunday’s forecast being mostly sunny, a big crowd should be on hand for the first Bunbury derby of the season.
