Panthers Advance Into Colts Semi

Carey Park have defeated Busselton in the Get Careers Colts Elimination Final at Kelly Park on Sunday morning, winning a tight contest by 13 points.

It took seven minutes for the first goal to be kicked, with Tanner Reid kicking a good goal on the run.   Leading Colts goal kicker Tienen Murphy replied shortly after, with no team able to gain the ascendancy.  Taj Beauclarke converted a set shot to give the Panthers an eight point lead, but in the final minute of the first term, Murphy goaled again, with Carey Park holding a two point quarter time lead.

It was just as tight in the second term, with Tanner Reid again kicking the opening goal of the term, and a further ten minutes would go by before the next score, with both backlines well and truly on top.  Billy Lovelock got the Magpies within a point late in the quarter after converting a set shot, and on the sound of the siren Spencer Groenenberg put the Magpies in front at half time.

The Panthers dominated the second half, kicking four goals in ten minutes to change the complexion of the match, taking a twelve point lead into the final term.

Busselton desperately tried to stay with the Panthers, and they dominated the first half of the final term, but they hit the post twice and amassed five behinds for the term, and their hopes were snuffed out when Tanner Reid kicked his third.

Carey Park will now play South Bunbury in a First Sem Final, while for Busselton it is the end of the season and a fifth placed finsh.
