Panthers Emphatic Victory In Final Match

Carey Park have finished their home and away season with an emphatic victory over Harvey Bulls at the Harvey Oval on Saturday evening, in round twenty one of the SWFL season.

The match started with an early goal to the Bulls but that was cancelled out soon after by Jaxon Bell who snapped the Panthers opening goal from 30m.  Harley Sparks kicked Carey Parks second goal from 50m on the run, and the Panthers were starting to look dangerous.  Rory O’Brien was starting to dominate in general play and had a hand in the visitors third goal, kicked by Simon Homsany on the run.  Paul Bower converted a set shot for the Bulls before Nicholaas Le Roux kicked his first league goal after being a late call up.

Ryan King converted a set shot at the commencement of the second quarter, extending the margin to 19 point.  Harley Bennell kicked the Bulls third goal courtesy of  a 5om penalty, but it was evident the Panthers were starting to dominate with a barrage of late goals to Kelvin Lawrence, Manasseh Milham saw the margin 44 points at half time.

The Bulls rallied early in the third quarter kicking two quick goals, after which time it was one way traffic for the remainder of the match.  Carey Park extended the margin to 61 points at three quarter time, before kicking five goals to one in the final term, for a ninety point win.

Carey Park had fourteen goal kickers in the match, with Jaxon Bell and Simon Homsany having good matches, while Andrew Haydon and Rhys Anzellino were amongst the best for Harvey.

The Panthers will now host a Qualifying Final, and will play either Donnybrook or South Bunbury who are still fighting for the third place on the ladder.
