Panthers Remain Undefeated

Carey Park remain undefeated after round three of the SWFL season, with a 43 point win over the Collie Eagles at Kelly Park, before one of the biggest crowds between the two teams in many years.

In a tight first term, the home team managed two goals to lead by eight points the the first break, before the game opened up in the second quarter, as the margin extended to 16 points.  Harley Sparks was getting plenty of the ball which was an ominous sign for the Eagles, and so it proved to be as the Panthers kicked three goals to one in the third term to have the margin at 30 points at three quarter time.

To the Eagles credit they played the game out in warm conditions, with Teale DeAngelis and Adam Bignell having good games, but Carey Park would prevail by 43 points, extending the advantage at every break.

Carey Park had plenty of options up forward, with nine goal scorers on the day, to record their third straight win (Bunbury, HBL and Collie). Sparks along with Cooper Sparks were amongst the best for the home team along with Jacob Orsi and Jaxon Bell, with the Panthers now to face Augusta Margaret River next Saturday evening at Kelly Park in what now shapes as a blockbuster.  Both teams will enjoy the evening match, with the temperature forecast for 26 degrees on Saturday.  Collie will host Bunbury, also under lights next Saturday night.
