Panthers Win Dour Affair At Kelly Park

It wasn’t pretty, it was low scoring and it was hard fought, but after four quarters it would be the home team who would prevail by 12 points, in their round four clash against the Collie Eagles at Kelly Park on Saturday evening.

The Eagles started strongly, and had nine scoring shots in the opening term, but only got maximum points three times.   The Panthers would fight back strongly in the second quarter, keeping the Eagles scoreless, to take a two point lead into the major break.

The match continued to be a close contest in the third term, with both teams far from full strength, with the home team kicking two goals to one in the third term, to lead by seven points at the final change.  A further two goals to one in the final saw the Panthers take their first premiership points of the season.

Jaxon Bell and Bill Brown were dominant for the victors, while Paul Rinder toiled hard for the Eagles.
