Premiers Take Down The Lions

The opening match of round three of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL season, pitted Harvey Brunswick Leschenault against reigning premier Augusta Margaret River at Brunswick Oval, with the Hawks victorious by 52 points.

In a brilliant first term, the Hawks had 13 scoring shots to one to lead by seven goals at quarter time, and by half time the margin was ten goals.  To the Lions credit they did win the second half but the damage was well and truly done, with Mitch and Steven Payne amongst the best players.

The match was dominated by the Hawks but there was one passage of play which certainly showed the class of Jarrod Humphries, who picked up a half volley one handed, before snapping a goal without looking at the goals, to give the home team something to cheer about.

After the Easter break, the Hawks will be on the road again, heading to Donnybrook to take on the Dons, while the Lions will head down the Bussell Highway to take on Busselton at Sir Stewart Bovell Park.
