Record Win To Bulls Over Panthers

Harvey Bulls have recorded their biggest ever win over Carey Park, when they defeated the Panthers by 104 points at Kelly Park on Saturday evening before a healthy crowd.

The Bulls needed to win to keep their finals chances well and truly alive, while Carey Park were looking to topple one of the top five teams yet again.

Unfortunately, the scoreline was lop-sided from the opening quarter and gradually got worse for the home team, as the Bulls kicked seven goals to one in the first quarter to lead by 40 points at the first break, with prolific goal kicker, Brad Holmes kicking three goals.

The margin extended to 52 points by half time and 79 points at three quarter time.  Bulls coach Mark Pink, implored his team for a big finish as percentage may well play a role in who finishes in the five and who doesn’t, and despite missing a few easy chances in the final term, the Bulls went on to win emphatically by 104 points.

The Bulls percentage climbed by almost nine percent, which Donnybrook will need to make up in the final round against Carey Park, while the Bulls can create their own destiny by defeating Busselton in Busselton to make the finals without percentage being an issue.  Calculators will be in hot demand, but Donnybrook will know what they need to do as the Busselton v Bulls match is on Saturday.

Braden Fimmano again played well for the Harvey Bulls, as did Holmes who finished with six goals, while Ethan Maguire and Jaxon Bell never stopped trying for the Panthers.
