The Solahart South West Reserves Grand Final will be played between Busselton and South Bunbury in what promises to be a great contest at Payne Park, with the match scheduled to commence at 11.50am.
Similar to the League, South Bunbury have only been beaten once this season, by Busselton, and as a result the Magpies advanced straight to the Grand Final, while the Tigers were forced to come via the Preliminary Final which they won by nine points in a tough contest last Sunday.
Busselton would finish the home and away season in third place, but proved they are serious contenders for the Premiership, when they beat both Bunbury and South Bunbury on their way to today’s decider.
The Tigers were involved in a tough contest on Sunday which started as free flowing in the first quarter before becoming an uncompromising contest for the last three quarters. In the final term when it looked like the Tigers had done enough, Bunbury scored three quick goals, forcing the Tigers to raise another effort to hold off the challenge.
Meanwhile, Busselton will be fully rested after having the week off and will be ready for what ever the Tigers will throw at them in what promises to be an excellent contest.
The two teams have never played in a Grand Final before, and head to head this season, the Tigers lead two to one, but Busselton won the most recent contest a fortnight ago. The last eight Grand Finals have been decided by sixteen points or less, four of them by seven points or less including one that went to extra-time.
