Reserves Wrap

After three rounds of the SWFL Reserves competition, Harvey Brunswick Leschenault and Eaton Boomers are the only two clubs undefeated, with the Lions having another massive percentage as they did last season.

The closest result in round three was South Bunbury’s 61 point win over Augusta Margaret River, with five lop sided results.

Collie only had a four point lead at half time over Donnybrook, before kicking thirteen goals to one in the second half, with Ayden Parkin kicking four goals, while Liam Reuben was best on ground.

At quarter time at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, you could have been excused for thinking you were at the Soccer, with Eaton Boomers leading 3-1 over Busselton, with neither team registering a goal.  Paul Jones and Jayme Osiejak both kicked five goals each, as Eaton easily accounted for Busselton.

Harvey Bulls kicked one goal and one behind in each quarter against Harvey Brunswick Leschenault, but the Lions were way too good, winning by 102 points.  Leading Goal Kicker, Chris Strano kicked four goals, but Keegan Fortescue kicked six, to be named best on ground.

Carey Park handed Bunbury an 80 point thrashing, with the Panthers picking up their first win of the season.  James Wallam kicked three goals, with nine players kicking goals in an even performance.

Kale Francis kicked five goals in South Bunbury’s win over the Hawks at Gloucester Park.  Deakin Stein kicked two goals as was the best player on the ground, with the Tigers moving to fourth on the ladder.

This week Busselton will have a tough battle against Collie, while the Harvey Bulls and Augusta Margaret River clash looks evenly matched.   Bunbury will face an uphill battle to down the undefeated Lions on Sunday at home, while Eaton Boomers will look to continue their great start to the season when they play Carey Park.  Despite having won only the one game, Carey Park were very good last week and the match promises to be much closer than the ladder positions suggest.  Bottom placed Donnybrook will travel to Hands Oval to take on South Bunbury in the final game of the round.
