Six Into Five Won’t Go In Colts Competition

Six into five doesn’t go and that is the situation currently in the Colts Competition after round fourteen.

Busselton and Harvey Bulls had comfortable wins on Saturday, while on Sunday South Bunbury downed Collie Eagles by six goals.

Top placed Bunbury suffered their second loss of the season when third placed Augusta Margaret River kick five unanswered goals in the final quarter to win by 14 points. After scores were level at half time at Glen Huon, sixth placed Eaton Boomers kicked four goals in the final term to defeat the Lions by 16 points, and as a result kept themselves in the hunt for the final five.

This Saturday Collie Eagles and Carey Park will play the Recreation Ground in what should be a highly competitive fixture.  Augusta Margaret River will host Eaton Boomers, with the Boomers needing to win to stay in touch with the Lions.  If the Hawks lose, they then fall into the hands of fourth placed South Bunbury.  The Lions will host Busselton in another crucial clash, while South Bunbury host Harvey Bulls.   The last time they placed, the two teams fought out a thrilling draw, but the Tigers have certainly improved and will be hard to beat.  In the only Sunday fixture Bunbury will host bottom team Donnybrook.
