Stephen Milne To Play For Collie Eagles

Former St Kilda star, Stephen Milne will play a one off game for the Collie Eagles on 11 June 2023, when Collie play their home game against Busselton at the Collie Recreation Ground.

Milne who played for St Kilda between 2001 – 2013, played 275 games and kicked 574 goals, was a four time leading goal kicker, and a two time All-Australian.

Since retiring from the AFL, Milne has still been playing competitive football.  Milne played for  Strathfieldsaye in the Bendigo Football League in 2014, he was the league leading goalkicker with 101 goals (including finals) and also won the club’s best and fairest award, and he was part of the club’s back-to-back premierships in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, Milne joined amateur football for Beaumaris in the VAFA Premier B where he played in a senior team premiership defeating St Bedes at Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham. At the end of the 2018 season, Milne retired from football at the age of 38.  Milne would return for a one off for the Gladstone Suns in a one off match in their defeat to the Yeppoon Swans, Milne kicked 1 goal.  Since then Milne has been playing Country Football as a Marquee Player, which is what he will do for the Collie Eagles.

He will be joined by Steven Baker (Former AFL Player) with a sportsman’s night on Friday, 9 June, before Milne plays with Collie against Busselton in Round 11.

This will give the SWFL two massive names of the AFL playing on the same day, with David Mundy playing for Dunsborough against Eaton.
