Tigers Demolish Dunsborough

South Bunbury have demolished and undermanned Dunsborough by a record 153 points at Hands Memorial Oval on Saturday afternoon, in the opening game of round fourteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL premiership season.

The Tigers kicked their highest score since 9 August 2014, when they kicked 29.23.197 against Donnybrook who kicked 2.2.14, also at Hands Memorial Oval.

The match was effectively over at quarter time when the home side led by 40 points.   The lead extended to 91 points at half time as South Bunbury kicked eight goals in the second quarter, led by Kade Wallrodt who would kick a career best ten goals.

Kade Wallrodt kicked ten goals, and missed six in a career best effort.

Dunsborough were stuck on one behind for nearly two quarters, and look destined to have an unenviable record of having the equal lowest score of all time in the SWFL.  Cain Reynolds ensured that didn’t happen when he kicked the Sharks first goal midway through the third term, but the Tigers kicked seven more.

The final term saw South Bunbury have 15 shots at goal, but only kicked four goals, otherwise the margin could have been even worse.  Kevin Vandengoor kicked a late goal for the Sharks, with the margin being 153 points, a record margin between the two clubs, and the biggest margin the fledgling club have been beaten by all time since joining the League competition in 2023.  The second goal did ensure it wasn’t the Sharks lowest score.

Wallrodt kicked ten goals and was a standout player, while Mitchell Bain and Shaun Crane also played well.

Dunsborough will return home and face Donnybrook in round fifteen, while Collie Eagles will host South Bunbury, with both games on Sunday.
