Tigers Into Reserves Grand Final

South Bunbury have defeated Bunbury in a hard fought Reserves Preliminary Final at Kelly Park on Sunday afternoon, taking the win by nine points to advance to the Solahart South West Reserves Grand Final.

In a high scoring first quarter, Bunbury started well taking the early lead before the competitions leading goal kicker Morgan Lane kicked two consecutive goals to put the Tigers in front.

Leading by a point at quarter time, things certainly tightened up in the second quarter with both teams managing a goal a piece, although the Tigers squandered opportunities.

The third quarter replicated the second, with both teams managing one goal each, with the Tigers leading by eight points at the final change.

When Guy Piggott kicked his second goal for the match, the Tigers had extended the margin to 28 points, and looked winners.  Bunbury would rally again, kicking the final three goals of the match with Liam Renton kicking two goals in two minutes, and when Ashton Harvey kicked a goal at the sixteen minute mark the Bulldogs were back within nine points, which would be the final margin.

Bunbury were gallant, but the Tigers will advance to the 2023 Grand Final where they will play Busselton.
