Tigers Maul Bulls

South Bunbury showed no mercy on Harvey on Sunday afternoon at Hands Memorial Oval, in the final game of round twenty of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

In a match which was played predominantly in the Tigers forward half, Blaine Johnson and Tyson Lane dominated, kicking fifteen goals between them in the lop-sided contest.

The Tigers would kick six goals in the opening term, four in the second, six in the third, before finishing with nine goals in the last.  The margin could have been greater than the 165 result if not for bad kicking in front of goals, particularly from set shots.

The game did see Jace Cormack play well returning last week from injury, kicking four goals, while Captain, Kevin Chitty again played well for the Tigers, as did Kade Szyszka.

The small crowd were hoping the Bulls would score a goal, getting close several times in the last term but to no avail.

It is just the second 165 point margin ever recorded in the SWFL, the other was in 1983, when Mines Rovers defeated Carey Park.

South Bunbury remain fourth on the ladder, but can move into third if they beat Bunbury next Sunday, elevating them into a Qualifying Final.   Harvey Bulls will also play next Sunday, hosting Eaton.
