Tigers Send Early Warning To Competition

South Bunbury have started the season in the best possible way when they comprehensively defeated Dunsborough by 97 points on Sunday afternoon at Dunsborough Playing Fields.

The opening round of the Dale Alcock Homes South West premiership season hasn’t been a good one for the Sharks, losing by 100 points to Donnybrook last season, and the home team failed to score in the opening term of the new season, while the Tigers kicked nine.

The second term saw more resistance from the Sharks, with the Tigers kicking four goals to one to lead by 79 points.

Warm conditions took their tole in the second half with South Bunbury kicking just six goals in the final two quarters, while Dunsborough managed four.

Mitchell Bain kicked four goals for the Tigers, with all of their new players putting in good games, with South Bunbury looking very slick, particularly in the first half, with great ball movement.

Simon Moore was the Sharks best player, but turnovers hurt the Sharks and put them under plenty of pressure in the opening half of the game.

South Bunbury will play Augusta Margaret River on Saturday at Hands Oval, while the Sharks will travel to Glen Huon Reserve to take on Eaton on Sunday.
