Title Defence Hits A Snag

The Nexus SWFL League side has suffered a loss in their second pool match against arch-rivals, Upper Great Southern on Friday afternoon at Pantanet Stadium, Joondalup.

The defending champions were on the ropes early in the contest, as the Upper Great Southern applied plenty of pressure and scored early in the contest, keeping the SWFL scoreless at half time.

The SWFL usual silky skills deserted the team in a scrappy contest with many kicks and handballs missing targets, leading to turnovers.

All is not lost for the South West, with two more pool matches on Saturday, with the top two teams moving through to the Grand Final.
