Vital Clash At Gloucester Park Saturday

Augusta Margaret River will host Carey Park on Saturday afternoon, in a vital match for both sides when they play at Gloucester Park in round ten of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, SWFL Premiership Season.

The Hawks are coming off a loss to Bunbury last Sunday, while Carey Park are fresh off a win at home against Donnybrook.   The Hawks sit fourth on the ladder with five wins from eight games, while Carey Park are sixth on the ladder, with four wins from eight games.

Augusta Margaret River have won three of their four matches at home this season, while the Panthers are yet to win away from home, something they will be wanting to arrest on Saturday.

Carey Park welcomed back Ryan King last Saturday and he immediately had an impact kicking four goals, while Kelvin Lawrence was brilliant both on the ground and in the air, and also contributed three goals.   Meanwhile the Hawks have plenty of firepower of their own, with Jack McMahon and Matthew Bannister contributing 35 goals between them.

Should the Hawks win, they will consolidate their position within the five and potentially move back to third place, at the expense of Harvey Brunswick Leschenault, should they lose to Donnybrook.  Should the Hawks lose,  and Donnybrook win, Augusta Margaret River will drop to fifth place.  Carey Park find themselves in a three way battle for the fifth place on the ladder with Donnybrook and Busselton.  It is conceivable that all three teams could win, meaning the Panthers would either remain sixth or potentially drop to seventh, despite winning, subject to Busselton defeating Collie by six goals or more.  A loss by Carey Park will have them seventh at the end of the round, with nine games remaining.
