The Optus Women’s Grand Final will be played this Sunday at Kelly Park between Busselton and Bunbury, in what promises to be a great match in what has been great season of Women’s Football.
Busselton were first to make the Grand Final after a hard fought win over Bunbury in the Second Semi Final, while Bunbury made their way into the final match of the season when they accounted for the Harvey Bulls in another tough encounter, in the Preliminary Final.
Head to head in the home and away season it is one all, with Bunbury the only team to defeat Busselton this season, while Busselton will take plenty of confidence into the Grand Final, knowing they won a hard fought contest just two weeks ago.
Both teams played in last years decider, which was the most exciting of the six Grand Finals decided to date, with the Magpies winning by one point.
“Its all about resetting and remaining focused” said Rennie Meadmore, Coach of the Magpies who will be fresh after having last weekend off. “It’s going to take all 22 of us and we are up to the challenge”, Meadmore added.
Meanwhile, Bunbury Coach Steve Bilcich is very much looking forward to the contest, “It’s been a great season and the players are all excited and look forward to the contest in Sunday’s Grand Final”.
Both teams have match winners all across the ground, and players who can kick quick goals, which is important based on the playing time. Sabella Banks has been instrumental in recent weeks, while Nakia Jilley has been in red hot form for the Bulldogs, giving both teams key targets up forward.
The match starts at 3.45pm or immediately after the conclusion of the League Preliminary Final.
