Busselton have defeated South Bunbury in the Tronox Women’s First Semi Final, with a ten point victory at Boyanup Oval on Saturday afternoon.
South Bunbury controlled the first half of the match, but weren’t able to put any scoreboard pressure on the Magpies, leading by just four points at half time, despite kicking the only goal of the first half in a tight contest.
It would be the third quarter that would be the quarter which turned the match, with Busselton kicking three goals through Rennie Meadmore, Katie-Jayne Grieve and Shannon Pross to totally turn the complexion of the match.
Despite keeping the Magpies scoreless in the final term, the margin was too great for the Tigers to claw back the margin.
Beth Beckett and Katie-Jayne Grieve played well for the Magpies who will now play either Harvey Bulls or Bunbury in the Preliminary Final. South Bunbury were well served by Megan Bain and Kiarni Stevens, who officially finish fourth in 2024.
