Big Match At Brunswick!

Round six of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season, will see Harvey Brunswick Leschenault play Augusta Margaret River at Brunswick Oval in a must win match for both sides.

The Hawks currently sit fifth on the ladder with three wins from five games, while the Lions are sixth with two wins from four matches, with the Lions having a significantly higher percentage than Augusta Margaret River.

The Hawks victories have been over Eaton (13 points), Collie Eagles (25 points) and Carey Park (15 points), but in between they have suffered losses to Donnybrook by 26 points and Busselton more recently by 87 points.  On that form, they are yet to beat a team currently in the top five, and have only beaten teams below them on the ladder, making a victory over the Lions imperative.

The Lions meanwhile are coming off the back of a loss to South Bunbury, in what has been arguably the game of the season to date, losing to the reigning premiers by six points.    The Lions have defeated Dunsborough by 33 points and Eaton by 31 points, with losses to the Tigers and Bunbury, which seess the Lions in the same scenario as the Hawks.

If the Lions were to win, they would be in the middle of the ladder with numerous teams on three wins at the end of the round, while a loss would see them drop to potentially seventh place.  Conversely, a Hawks victory would see them join several teams on four wins, while a loss could also see them drop to seventh due to the unhealthy percentage.

The last ten matches between the two sides have been evenly shared, though the Lions have won the last three contests.  The League match is scheduled to commence at 4.40pm
