Bunbury Derby Set For Payne Park Sunday

Bunbury will face Carey Park on Sunday for the 140th time in the SWFL, when the two sides do battle at PC Payne Park, in the final game of round thirteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West premiership season.

Bunbury currently sit second on the ladder and have just one loss which came at the hands of Busselton in round three, while Carey Park are coming off a victory over Donnybrook last Saturday, keeping their season alive.

Bunbury have been impressive in every match, including the narrow loss to Busselton, while Carey Park have struggled to put more than two wins in a row together throughout the season.   They can match that on Sunday by defeating Bunbury, something they must do to stay in touch with times in and around the five.

A Carey Park victory would see them move to sixth regardles of whether sixth placed Donnybrook or fifth placed Augusta Margaret River win, while a loss will see them at least one game, if not two games outside the five at the end of the round.

Busselton meanwhile have been on top of the ladder all season, but Bunbury can go to top spot should the Magpies lose to South Bunbury and Bunbury win on Sunday, with Bunbury having a superior percentage to all teams in the competition.

The two sides have played in 51 previous matches at Payne Park with Bunbury leading by one, and with plenty to play for, a big crowd is expected on Sunday.
