Five In A Row For Lions

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have won their fifth match in a row, when they defeated Dunsborough on Saturday afternoon at Brunswick Oval, in round thirteen of the Dale Alcock Homes South West, South West Football League season.

The Lions would record a comfortable 63 point win over the Sharks, steadily increasing their margin quarter by quarter.

It would be a tight opening quarter though, with the Sharks taking it up to the more fancied Lions, with the home side holding an eight point advantage at quarter time.

The Lions gave themselves some breathing room in the second term, kicking four goals to one to lead by 26 points at half time, with John Manuel and Ty Anderson gaining plenty of possessions.

Ten goals to four in the second half saw the Lions comfortably home, with Jesse Crichton kicking four goals, while Anderson and Manuel joined Jai Rout and Zavier Williams, all with two goals.

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have cemented themselves for the moment in the top five, and are quietly going about their business.  The Lions have lost four matches for the season, by three points to Busselton, eight points to Augusta Margaret River, six points to South Bunbury while their biggest loss came at the hands of Bunbury by fifteen points.

The Lions next assignment is the Hawks at Gloucester Park on Sunday, while Dunsborough will host Busselton on Saturday in round fourteen.
