The South West Football League is committed to umpiring and committed to ensuring the SWFL give the local umpires the best opportunities to be the best they can be with the resources made available to them.
The SWFL Umpires Association is widely regarded as being one of the most professional Umpiring Associations in Western Australia, if not Australia, and yesterday signed on their 100th Umpire to the SWFL. One hundred umpires may sound like a lot, but in reality the SWFL needs a minimum of 104 Umpires to officiate the Colts, Reserves, Womens and League fixtures every week, without Umpires being required to double – up.
The SWFL is having a concerted campaign to attract more umpires, with the add below being placed in today’s South Western Times, and for the first time in many years, highlighting the ability to earn some very good money, equal with any Country League in Western Australia.
If you have ever considered umpiring, or believe you could do a better job than those currently umpiring, please make contact with either John Vidos at the SWFL of SWFL Umpires President Jason Crowe for further details.
