• Bunbury To Play Busselton In The Grand Final

Bunbury are through to the 2026, Dale Alcock Homes South West Grand Final after defeating Donnybrook in the Preliminary Final at Hands Memorial Oval on Sunday afternoon.

Kynan Pridmore goaled within two minutes to give Bunbury the early lead.   In a tough opening term, Mitchell Kings levelled the scores with a set shot from 50m.   Baiden Parsons provided a bullet like handball through the centre which ended up with Haydn Busher who ran into an open goal to put the Bulldogs back in front.   Kye Wright snapped close to goal moments later to see the Bulldogs lead extend to twelve points.   Both sides missed some easy shots late in the quarter which would see the Bulldogs lead by fifteen points at quarter time.

The second quarter was only three minutes old when Kye Wright took three bounces and raced into an open goal to extend the Bulldogs advantage.   A defensive error led to Cody Leggett kicking an easy goal, a goal the Dons desperately needed.   Jy Bolton converted from 45m after receiving a fifty metre penalty, and all of a sudden after ten minutes the margin was just eight points.   Kye Wright got his third of the day with a pack mark in the goal square to give the Bulldogs some breathing space.   The gap widened further when Parsons tapped a ruck knock beautifully to Fraser Gilchrist who converted from thirty metres.

Five minutes into the third term, Haydn Busher took a pack mark twenty metres out, extending the lead back to twenty eight points.   Dylan Heasman roved a loose ball to give Bunbury their eighth goal and the biggest lead of the match and the Dons were in trouble on the scoreboard.  Things unravelled further when Sam Perkusich was yellow carded nine minutes into the term.   The Dons desperately needed a goal and a fifty metre penalty assisted with Colby McDonald kicking the Dons fourth.    Haydn Busher ensured the Dons didn’t get any momentum when he kicked truly from the pocket giving the Bulldogs a near six goal lead.      Bunbury had all the answers, and every goal the Dons mustered, the Bulldogs were able to answer almost immediately.

It was evident early in the last that there would be no heroic comeback by the Dons, with Bunbury winning by 41 points, setting up a rematch with Busselton in the Grand Final.

  • Lions Into Historic Women’s Grand Final

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault have defeated Bunbury in the Tronox Women’s Preliminary Final, and in doing so have created history by making their first ever Grand Final.

The Lions started brilliantly kicking a goal in the first fifteen seconds courtesy of Maya Goudard.    Latisha Hough converted soon after to give the Lions a twelve point lead.  Goudard kicked her second mid quarter courtesy of a freak bounce that went over a Bunbury defender on the goal line.

The Bulldogs tried to get back into the match in the second quarter, but an Emma Faulkner goal extended the margin to twenty six points, with the Bulldogs scoreless at half time.

The third quarter was a dour affair, with the Bunbury defence under enormous pressure but they held the Lions goal-less, to trail by 28 points at three quarter time.

With the result beyond doubt, the Lions celebrated when Emma Faulkner ran into an open goal to kick the Lions fifth.   Moments later Faulkner goaled again, with the Lions winning by forty points and into their first grand final.

  • Lions Win Ressies Preliminary Final

Harvey Brunswick Leschenault are through to the Solahart South West Reserves Grand Final after defeating Carey Park on Sunday afternoon at Hands Memorial Oval.

In a tight contest, goals for the most part were hard to find, but the Lions were the stronger side in the second half to make next Saturday’s decider.

Jordan Wallam kicked a great goal on the boundary to open the scoring, but a set shot from Tye Armitage put the Lions in front.    The Panthers would have the majority of the play in the opening stanza, but managed three behinds, with Jarrod Humphries converting right on quarter time to give the Lions back the lead.

Wallam marked in the goal square at the start of the second quarter to put the Panthers back in front, the fourth lead change of the match.   Wallam marked and goal again with seven minutes remaining, with the Panthers out by ten points.

Jarrod Humphries kicked the first goal of the third term, which reduced the margin back to three points and shortly after Beau Mills put the Lions back in front.   The Lions were applying plenty of pressure and soon kicked another to turn a ten point half point deficit into a nine point lead.  Daniel Italiano extended the margin further, giving the Lions the biggest lead of the match with light drizzle starting to fall.

The final term was a real arm wrestle with both sides missing easy shots at goal, but Daniel Italiano received a free kick, which saw the Lions 28 points in front with ten minutes remaining, with Carey Park unable to close the margin, with the Lions through to the Grand Final against Bunbury.

  • Tigers Into Colts Decider

South Bunbury have advanced to the Get Careers Colts Grand Final, with an eleven point win over Augusta Margaret River on Sunday at Hands Memorial Oval.

It took six minutes to get the first score with the ball going from end to end with the pressure right up in the early going.  Zenon Parsons eventually found himself free to put through the opening goal for South Bunbury.

Toby McGee got loose and kicked a good goal on the run for the Tigers and soon after Wesley Higgins did likewise and all of a sudden South Bunbury led by seventeen points.  Noah Piavanini received a free kick close to quarter time and he duly converted with the Tigers dominating the opening term.

Leading by twenty three points at quarter time, the Hawks desperately needed the first goal of the second, and Kobi Walton provided the spark the Hawks were looking for.  The Hawks were dominating general play but the Tigers defence were resolute.  The Hawks several set shots at goal, and eventually the Tigers were able get free, with Nehemiah Brown having four bounces along the outer side, kicking a great goal on the run giving South Bunbury a twenty two point lead at the main break.

An errant handball lead to the Tigers kicking the opening goal of the third term via Taj Allan, with the margin moving out to twenty eight points.   Both defensive lines were well on top with scoring at a premium, with Cassidy Barr breaking the deadlock with a good set shot kick allowing for the breeze perfectly.  Shortly after Mitch Joliffe snapped a good goal which just cleared the scoring line reducing the margin back to sixteen points.

The last thing the Hawks needed was an early goal in the last to the Tigers and that is what happened with Noah Piavanini converting a set shot to extend the margin yet again.  The Hawks never gave up, with Nate Poulsen snapping truly, narrowing the margin to seventeen points with six minutes to play.  The Hawks closed the gap further but ultimately fell eleven points short with South Bunbury moving into the Grand Final where they will play Harvey Brunswick Leschenault.   After finishing the regular season as minor premiers, the Hawks will finish officially third.
